Short answer
The best decoration method for hoodies depends on fabric, artwork, quantity, desired hand feel and use. DTF is versatile, DTG suits compatible cotton hoodies, DTM is used for specialist cut-material effects, and embroidery provides a premium textile finish.
A hoodie combines heavier fabric, seams, a hood and often a kangaroo pocket. Technique, artwork and position therefore need to be assessed together. The lowest unit price is not automatically the best option when appearance, comfort and repeatability matter.
DTF: flexible and full colour
Direct to Film works for sharp logos, illustrations and colour gradients on many common hoodies. The transfer remains perceptible, so large solid areas require extra consideration of comfort and size.
DTG: detail with a softer print feel
Direct to Garment is particularly useful for detailed artwork on technically suitable cotton garments. Fabric, colour and pretreatment affect the outcome, so the actual product must be assessed first.
DTM: names, numbers and specialist effects
DTM uses material cut with a cutting plotter for names, numbers, flock, glitter, metallic or brick/rubber effects. It is not another name for DTF or DTG. The transfer material is selected for the garment, effect and intended use.
Embroidery: a distinctive textile finish
Embroidery works well for chest logos, lettering, badges and clear shapes on sufficiently stable hoodies. Stitch count, size and material determine the final price. Very small details are technically reviewed.

- Fashion label or drop: compare appearance, hand feel, repeatability and integration with labels and fulfilment.
- Workwear: consider daily use, washing frequency, size mix and consistent logo placement.
- On-demand store: choose a garment and process that can be repeated predictably for individual orders.
- Team or club: combine a chest logo with names, numbers or roles where required.
Fabric and position are decisive
A heavyweight cotton hoodie behaves differently from a polyester blend. Pockets, seams, zips and hoods also restrict some positions. AJDN checks the file and garment before confirming production. From artwork to repeat order
